Who can live at Amar Ghar?

A senior citizen of Indian origin aged 60 years and above can become a resident of Amar Ghar.
Besides, following are few of the important guidelines governing the admission procedure:

 

  • Whenever applicable, the admissions are confirmed by a Registered practitioner after assessing the health conditions of the applicant.
  • The admission is finalized by the Executive Committee
  • At the time of admission, a Guardian should accompany the applicant who can be a near relative of the applicant viz., spouse, children, brother, or sister.
  • Each resident should have a guardian with the following criteria:
    • Must be less than 60 years of age
    • Should be a Permanent Resident of Guwahati, Assam
    • Should visit the Resident atleast once in a quarter
    • Should be willing to take responsibility of the Resident in case of any kind of health or other emergencies 

 At the time of admission, all residents are provided with the following documents:

1. Application Form

2. House Rules

3. Rules for Visitors

Documentation

The applicants have to submit the following documents to complete the Registration formalities:

 

  1. Photo - 4 copies
  2. Address Proof
  3. Photo ID Proof
  4. Completely filled-up prescribed Application Form
  5. Medical-History declaration by a registered doctor
  6. Affidavit by the Applicant duly notarized
  7. Signed Rules & regulations acknowledgement
  8. Signed undertaking / declaration by the Guardian
  9. Address proof of the local guardian/ guardian
  10. Health Insurance Copy, if any

OUR SHARED CODE OF CONDUCT

 

  • They should live cordially with the co-residents and staff of Amar Ghar.
  • Participate in different activities of Amar Ghar conducted from time to time.
  • Respect the rights of the other residents and conduct himself/herself in such a manner as to maintain peace and harmony.
  • Be punctual in their routine activities including the meal times
  • Keep the accommodation and the premises neat, tidy and pleasant.
  • Not bring or keep any firearms or weapons or like with him/her inside Amar Ghar.
  • Take care of his/her personal articles and belongings as the Management will not be responsible for the loss or theft of the same.
  • Drinking alcohol, intoxicants, drug abuse or any kind or illegal activity in Amar Ghar is strictly prohibited. Smoking is discouraged.
  • Not cook any food inside his/her room.
  • In the event of any such loss, breakage, damage, etc. of the property or fixtures of Amar Ghar due to the negligence and/or misuse by a Resident or his/her visitor(s), the cost of repair or replacement of the same, as be determined by the Management, shall be recovered from the respective Resident.
  • Not run any private business from Amar Ghar.
  • Residents can bring and keep their own furniture, electrical equipment, kitchen utensils only after prior approval. However, in no case residents can keep any kind of stove, burners, and similar items of fire hazards.
  • Management reserves the right to remove a Resident for not abiding by the Rules and Regulations herein contained or due to his/her bad behavior, ill-treatment of co-residents, spreading negativity, creating an un-healthy atmosphere, etc.
